HOUSING CRISIS
Understand, define, ideate

After sessions in class and brainstorming there was an abundance of potential ideas. The topic for my inquality poster is housing --> housing crisis --> lack of housing --> property speculators buying property and treating them as their main income.

In 2016 housing prices rised the fastest they had in 12 years.
Also in the 2016 report, The Inequality Paradox: Why Inequality Matters Even Though It Has Barely Changed. They dubunked myths about inequality and misperceptions of the public.

“Inequality in incomes has been flat for decades. The housing crisis has caused real inequities, and real inequalities in lived experience, and real hardship. Trying to solve a housing problem by focusing on income levels simply will not work.”

One Kiwi in five is in poverty even before you start looking at housing costs, says anti-poverty campaigner Max Rashbrooke.
